Kangana Ranaut Criticizes Opposition for Disrupting Parliament Sessions
Kangana Ranaut's Remarks on Parliamentary Disruptions
Actress and politician Kangana Ranaut has expressed her discontent with the opposition, accusing them of deliberately causing disruptions and showing increasing frustration after a series of electoral defeats. On the first day of the winter session of Parliament, frequent interruptions were noted. She remarked that the more the opposition loses, the more their despair grows, indicating that parties like Congress have reached a state of hopelessness. Ranaut further stated that due to these disruptions, significant matters scheduled for discussion could not take place today.
Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Kangana emphasized that crucial topics planned for discussion were not addressed, leading to a two-hour suspension of the session. She pointed out that such behavior is damaging the credibility of the opposition in the eyes of the public. "The entire nation is watching, and they (the opposition) are diminishing their own standing in the public eye while losing election after election," she added.
Today marks the second day of the winter session, where the government may advance with the introduction of important bills. However, the opposition continues to create a ruckus over the Special Intensive Review (SIR) in both houses. Following the uproar from opposition MPs demanding a discussion on SIR, the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha were adjourned until 2 PM, and the Lok Sabha also suspended its session until the same time. Amid preparations for the second day of the winter session, Congress and other opposition MPs protested against the ongoing special intensive review of the electoral rolls.
As the Lok Sabha session commenced at 11 AM, opposition MPs continued to chant slogans against the central government, calling for a discussion on the ongoing SIR. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla urged members to maintain decorum, stating that the entire country is observing the opposition's actions. He requested, "Members, I urge you to allow question hour to proceed as it is important. I see that the way you are protesting inside and outside the house is not in the interest of Parliament or the nation."
