Mumbai, June 16: Renowned actor Kamal Haasan recently met with Superstar Rajinikanth in anticipation of his upcoming oath-taking ceremony as a Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament.
Haasan shared several photos from their meeting on his official X (formerly Twitter) account. The images depict the 'Indian' actor presenting his official Rajya Sabha order to Rajinikanth, along with a bouquet. Another photo captures a heartfelt embrace between the two Southern cinema legends.
In his post, Haasan expressed his excitement, stating, “I shared the beginning of this new journey with my friend @rajinikanth. I feel elated.”
Rajinikanth also took to social media to congratulate Haasan, sharing a glimpse of their meeting. He wrote, "My dear friend @ikamalhaasan who will be taking office as a member of the Rajya Sabha, heartfelt congratulations to him."
These moments between the two icons have quickly gained popularity online.
For those unfamiliar, Kamal Haasan is not only a celebrated actor but also the founder of the political party Makkal Needhi Maiyam. He was one of six candidates from Tamil Nadu elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha, with the DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) nominating him as part of a prior agreement.
Haasan is set to take his oath as a Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament on July 25.
On the professional front, Kamal Haasan was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s "Thug Life," which premiered on June 5. He is also slated to appear in S Shankar’s "Indian 3" and has a project lined up with action choreographers Anbariv.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is gearing up for his role in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s "Coolie," which is scheduled for release on August 14. Additionally, there are rumors of him collaborating with 'Maharaja' director Nithilan Swaminathan for his next film.
