K. Annamalai's Resignation from BJP

After stepping down, K. Annamalai expressed his desire not to be a burden on the BJP. Despite parting ways with the party, he conveyed his deep respect for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed gratitude for the trust and opportunities provided by the party leadership throughout his political journey. Elaborating on his resignation, the former president of the Tamil Nadu BJP stated that he took this step to avoid becoming a source of trouble for the party amidst differences regarding its future direction and political strategy in Tamil Nadu.


Plans for a New Political Movement

Shortly after resigning from the BJP, K. Annamalai claimed that veteran actor Rajinikanth had invited him to join forces, but he indicated that he would instead embark on launching his own political movement. On Thursday, he announced his resignation from the BJP, stating that he aims to initiate a new political movement that could significantly alter the political landscape of the state.


Response from BJP Leadership

Addressing his supporters after leaving the BJP, Annamalai mentioned that he would pursue an independent political path and strive to carve out a new direction in Tamil Nadu politics. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu BJP chief Nainar Nagendran stated that he had not yet received official notification regarding Annamalai's resignation, and therefore, he could not comment on the matter. Responding to journalists in Chennai, Nagendran remarked that he had not been informed about Annamalai's resignation, so he was unable to provide any comments at this time.
