Jude Bellingham Refutes Claims of Involvement in Xabi Alonso's Dismissal
Bellingham Denies Allegations
Jude Bellingham, the midfielder for Real Madrid, has firmly rejected allegations that he influenced the dismissal of Xabi Alonso as manager. Alonso was let go shortly after Real Madrid's defeat to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final, marking the end of his seven-month tenure.
Media reports had pointed to Bellingham as one of the players who allegedly did not support Alonso's coaching methods. In response, the England international took to social media to urge fans to disregard such rumors. He expressed his frustration, stating, "Honestly... what a load of nonsense. I truly feel sorry for those who cling to the words of these individuals and their so-called 'sources.'" He emphasized that such misinformation is often propagated for clicks and sensationalism.
Bellingham's Performance Under Alonso
Since his arrival at Real Madrid in 2023, Bellingham has made a significant impact, netting 23 goals and providing 13 assists in his first season, followed by 14 goals and 13 assists in the 2024-25 season. During Alonso's management, he contributed six goals and five assists in 29 matches across all competitions. Reports had previously suggested that he, along with Vinicius Jr and Federico Valverde, were skeptical of Alonso's strategies, a claim he has now denied.
Alonso's Statement Post-Dismissal
In the wake of his departure, Alonso also shared his thoughts on Instagram, expressing gratitude for the chance to coach Real Madrid. He described the experience as both an honor and a responsibility. "This professional chapter has concluded, and it did not unfold as we had hoped. Coaching Real Madrid has been a privilege, and I thank the club, the players, and especially the fans... I leave with respect, gratitude, and pride in having given my all," Alonso stated.
Alonso's Tenure at Real Madrid
Alonso took the reins at Real Madrid after a successful stint at Bayer Leverkusen, just before the FIFA Club World Cup. His time with the club spanned 34 matches, achieving 24 victories and suffering six losses before the decision was made to part ways.
