Accusations Against the Opposition
On Thursday, Union Minister and Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha, JP Nadda, accused the opposition of deliberately obstructing the proceedings of Parliament. He stated that the government, led by Narendra Modi, is open to discussing any issue, but the opposition lacks substantial topics to raise. While addressing the Rajya Sabha, Nadda pointed out that since the commencement of the Monsoon session, the opposition has focused on disrupting the functioning of the house.
Criticism of Opposition's Attitude
Nadda criticized the opposition's negative stance, emphasizing that their primary focus has been on creating disruptions rather than allowing the house to function smoothly. He observed that the opposition does not have any concrete issues and tends to frequently change their demands. He accused them of avoiding debates, asserting that the government has always been prepared for discussions in Parliament.
Government's Readiness for Discussion
He clarified that the government, under PM Modi's leadership, is ready to discuss any matter—not just limited to the current session. Historically, the government has been open to discussions in all previous sessions, and whenever debates occurred, the opposition faced embarrassment due to their lack of substantial issues.
Ongoing Discussions in Rajya Sabha
Referring to the day's agenda, Nadda mentioned that discussions were scheduled in the Rajya Sabha, criticizing the opposition for repeatedly changing their demands. He noted that today, a discussion that they had requested would be initiated by Jitendra Singh at 2 PM regarding a bill. Despite this, he remarked on the opposition's tendency to alter their stance frequently, condemning their irresponsible behavior. Following Nadda's remarks, opposition members staged a walkout from the Rajya Sabha.
