Jitan Ram Manjhi Urges Chirag Paswan to Strengthen NDA Amid Bihar's Law and Order Concerns
Manjhi Calls for Unity in NDA
Union Minister and leader of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), Jitan Ram Manjhi, has encouraged fellow Union Minister Chirag Paswan to remain committed to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and contribute to its strengthening. This statement comes after Paswan criticized the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government for its deteriorating law and order situation during a press conference in Patna. Manjhi emphasized the importance of supporting the NDA, stating, 'We are part of the NDA. We need to assist them and wish them well. They should work on fortifying the NDA.'
Reflecting on Past Political Stances
In a significant remark, Manjhi referenced Paswan's political stance during the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, urging against repeating past confrontations. He expressed that it would be beneficial if Paswan does not adopt the same strategies as in 2020. Responding to Paswan's comments, Manjhi expressed satisfaction in supporting a government that does not compromise with crime and criminals, highlighting that the Bihar government under NDA leadership is committed to good governance.
The Importance of NDA in Current Times
Manjhi further stressed the current relevance of the NDA at both state and national levels, asserting, 'Today, the NDA has become essential for society and the nation. Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar are driving various developmental initiatives. Anyone opposing the NDA likely lacks goodwill towards the people of the state and the country, and we will appreciate efforts to strengthen it.'
Critique of Chirag Paswan's Experience
Manjhi also commented on Chirag Paswan's relatively short political career compared to his father's extensive experience of 40-45 years, suggesting that Paswan's lack of exposure to Bihar's political landscape is why he makes such statements.
Chirag Paswan's Concerns on Crime Rates
Previously, Chirag Paswan expressed his discontent in supporting a government that seems unable to curb rising crime rates. He described the reports of increasing incidents of murder and robbery as a 'conspiracy' to tarnish the government's image ahead of the assembly elections. Paswan reiterated that the ultimate responsibility for maintaining law and order lies with the state government.
