The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has expressed its congratulations to Jintimani Kalita for her inclusion in the Indian Women’s T20I squad for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe in 2026. Jintimani, who is a right-arm medium-fast bowler and a left-handed batter hailing from Assam, has achieved her first selection for the senior women's team. This milestone makes her the second female cricketer from Assam to join the ranks of the Indian senior women's team.
In a press release, the ACA stated, 'We wish Jintimani Kalita all the best as she begins this thrilling new chapter in her cricket career, bringing honor to Assam on a national platform.'
Details of the India vs Zimbabwe 2026 Series
The Indian women's T20I team will be captained by Smriti Mandhana, with three matches set to take place in Raipur on October 16, 18, and 20, 2026. This series marks a significant moment as it will be the first bilateral international series between India Women and Zimbabwe, featuring three T20Is and three ODIs. Smriti Mandhana takes over the captaincy from Harmanpreet Kaur, who resigned from her leadership role on October 6.
