Jharkhand's Voter Mapping Process Ahead of Special Revision
Voter Mapping Completed in Jharkhand
K. Ravi Kumar, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Jharkhand, announced on Saturday that the parental mapping of 75% of voters has been finalized based on the 2003 electoral rolls ahead of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise starting June 20.
Kumar mentioned that starting Saturday, all polling stations will display the list of voters who have not yet been mapped. Voters whose details have been matched will not need to submit any additional documents for the upcoming SIR process.
Currently, Jharkhand has a total of 26.4 million voters. The CEO stated, “During the previous SIR exercise, the mapping of 75% of voters was completed based on their parents' details from the 2003 electoral lists. The list of unmapped voters will be published today (from May 23) at all polling stations across the state.”
He urged voters to check their names in the unmapped voter list at their respective polling stations. Kumar advised those listed as ‘unmapped’ to contact their booth officer for name verification. The list will remain available at all polling stations for the next two weeks, and on August 5, the draft voter list will be released along with the lists of absent, deceased, and duplicate voters.
