Significant Reshuffle in Jharkhand Police

The Jharkhand government executed a significant bureaucratic reshuffle on Tuesday, transferring 48 IPS officers, including senior superintendents and police superintendents across 14 districts.


According to an official notification, this decision came just a day after the appointment of new deputy commissioners (DCs) in 20 districts. The notification issued by the Department of Home, Prisons, and Disaster Management indicates that Amol V. Homkar, who previously served as IG (Operations), has been appointed as IG of Railways. Additionally, ADG Priya Dubey has been assigned the additional responsibility of ADG Modernization and Training.


The notification further states that Prabhat Kumar, the IG of the Special Branch, has been given the additional charge of IG JAP. The state government has also made changes to the SSP and SP positions in Pakur, Garhwa, Lohardaga, Simdega, Hazaribagh, Jamtara, Godda, West Singhbhum, Chaibasa, Gumla, Khunti, Bokaro, and Chatra districts, along with transfers for the SP City and SP Rural of Ranchi and the SP City of Dhanbad.
