Jharkhand Government Engages with Protesters Over Alleged Exam Paper Leak

Dialogue Initiated with Job Aspirants

The Jharkhand government held discussions on Saturday with job seekers led by Devendra Nath Mahto, who have been protesting over an alleged paper leak issue. The meeting took place at the state guest house in Ranchi. This marks the seventh day of Mahto's hunger strike.

An eight-member delegation from this group has been meeting with government officials following significant protests in the capital over the past two weeks. Mahto, a leader of the Jharkhand Democratic Revolutionary Front (JLRF), stated, "We demand the immediate cancellation of the 14th civil service examination conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and all exams held by that agency." The protesters are also calling for an independent investigation into the alleged irregularities, insisting that it should be conducted either by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or by a committee of retired judges from high courts outside the state.
