Jharkhand CM Promises Justice Amid Ongoing Student Protests
Commitment to Transparency in Recruitment Exams
In the midst of student protests in Ranchi, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has pledged to ensure justice for the youth opposing irregularities in recruitment examinations, emphasizing the need for transparency. While addressing the 'Jharkhand Tribal Day' event, he stated that issues at home should be resolved through dialogue rather than force. He asserted that weapons are meant for confronting enemies at the borders, not for dealing with students. Soren reassured the students that those responsible for any examination misconduct would face consequences.
Accusations Against Opposition Parties
The Chief Minister accused the BJP and other opposition parties of misleading the youth of the state by spreading falsehoods. He remarked that certain individuals are attempting to disrupt the state's atmosphere and politicize the protests for their own gain. Referring to the NEET paper leak protests at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, he noted that students faced police brutality and were labeled as traitors, but the Jharkhand government does not support the use of force against students.
Assurance of Justice for Students
Hemant Soren expressed that the concerns of the youth are also his own. He declared, "We have caught the culprits, and we will deliver justice ourselves." He urged the protesting students not to rely on any political party for their movement, as seeking justice is their right, and the government is fully committed to this cause.
Protests Continue on Day 16 with Ongoing Talks
The student protests against irregularities in recruitment examinations have now entered their 16th day, with six students on an indefinite hunger strike. Meanwhile, the government and representatives of the protesters engaged in the sixth round of discussions at the state guest house in Ranchi. The students are demanding reforms in the JPSC and JSSC processes, as well as an investigation by the CBI or a committee led by a retired judge from outside the state.
