Chief Minister's Commitment to Address Candidates' Concerns
On Friday, Jharkhand's Chief Minister Hemant Soren met with candidates protesting for the JPSC and JSSC in Ranchi. He expressed the government's readiness to engage in dialogue and emphasized the need for essential reforms to meet the expectations of the students. These remarks came amidst ongoing demonstrations at the Jaipal Singh Stadium regarding recruitment examinations in the state. CM Soren stated that a method for discussion had already been established, and the government is eager to understand the issues faced by each student. He mentioned efforts to take the students' concerns beyond the confines of the stadium.
Soren highlighted the government's objective to resolve systemic issues, stating that the aim is to implement significant and robust reforms that align with the needs and aspirations of the students. During the protests, JLKM MLA Jairam Mahto raised serious questions about the fairness of the selection process, referencing a case related to the JPSC preliminary examination and its connection to the JSSC CGL results. Mahto alleged that the demand pertains to the JPSC preliminary exam, where an accused individual had passed the JSSC CGL exam with the second rank, and several family members had also cleared the exam.
He called for a thorough investigation into the candidate's examination history, asserting that all relevant exams they participated in, as well as those conducted by the associated company, should be scrutinized. Meanwhile, Neha Bora, president of the All India Students Association (AISA), joined the protesters in Ranchi on Friday, voicing opposition against alleged irregularities in the JPSC, JSSC CGL, and other competitive examinations in the state.
The ongoing protests concerning the Jharkhand Public Service Commission and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission examinations have garnered significant political attention, increasing pressure on the state government to address the candidates' concerns before the situation escalates. Earlier, on Thursday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had a phone conversation with the JPSC-JSSC candidates.
