Jasprit Bumrah Shines with Five-Wicket Haul at Lord's

Bumrah's Spectacular Performance
Jasprit Bumrah showcased his extraordinary bowling skills at Lord's, leaving the English batsmen struggling to cope with his pace and precision. He achieved a remarkable feat by taking five wickets in a single innings, a first for him at this iconic venue. Bumrah's victims included prominent players such as Joe Root, Ben Stokes, and Harry Brook, all of whom were dismissed with ease. This outstanding performance also allowed him to surpass a significant milestone previously held by Kapil Dev, establishing himself as India's top bowler in a unique category.
Bumrah Completes His Five-Wicket Haul
Bumrah wrapped up his five-wicket haul by bowling out Jofra Archer. He had already claimed Harry Brook's wicket on the first day of the Test, but his most impactful spells occurred on Day 2. During his initial spell, he took down Ben Stokes, Joe Root, and Chris Woakes. Stokes was dismissed for 44 runs, while Bumrah ended Root's impressive century, marking the 11th time he has dismissed Root in Test matches. Following Root's wicket, he sent Woakes back for a golden duck and then bowled Archer cleanly to finalize his five-wicket achievement at Lord's.
Breaking Kapil Dev's Record
With this exceptional display, Jasprit Bumrah has now recorded five-wicket hauls in 13 overseas Test innings, breaking Kapil Dev's previous record of 12 such performances abroad. Anil Kumble ranks third on this list. Thanks to Bumrah's brilliance, India managed to bowl out England for 387 runs in their first innings, with Nitish Kumar Reddy and Mohammed Siraj also contributing with two wickets each.
