Jason Gillespie Critiques PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi Over Team Camp Absence

Controversy Surrounds PCB Leadership
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is facing fresh criticism from former red-ball head coach Jason Gillespie, who has taken aim at PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi. In a recent podcast interview, Gillespie expressed his disappointment over Naqvi's absence from a crucial team-building event known as the Connection Camp, which aimed to enhance teamwork and communication within the national squad.
Gillespie remarked, "Gary proposed this excellent idea for a connection camp. Everyone involved in Pakistan cricket shared their insights during that session. I traveled from Australia, Gary came from South Africa, and the Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, joined via Zoom."
He pointed out, "Although he is based in Lahore, he chose not to attend, while Gary made the effort to come from Africa. We both found it odd that the Chairman couldn't spare 20 minutes to be present."
The former coach, who worked alongside white-ball coach Gary Kirsten to organize and participate in the camp, expressed his frustration over the PCB leadership's lack of engagement. He emphasized that Naqvi's absence sent a negative signal about the board's commitment to fostering a strong team culture.
Gillespie, who stepped down as Test coach later that year, used the podcast platform to highlight what he views as a missed opportunity for senior management to connect with and support the team in significant ways.
