Japan's Kagawa Prefectural Assembly Delegation Visits Imphal to Enhance Cooperation
Strengthening Ties Between Manipur and Kagawa Prefecture
Imphal, Dec 21: A delegation from the Kagawa Prefectural Assembly in Japan has arrived in Imphal with the goal of enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly focusing on human resource development and sectoral partnerships. The Kagawa Prefectural Assembly serves as the legislative authority for Kagawa Prefecture in Japan.
The delegation engaged in discussions with Chief Secretary Dr. Puneet Kumar Goel and the Secretary for Skills, Labour, Employment, and Entrepreneurship.
This meeting served as a platform for in-depth discussions regarding potential areas for collaboration between Manipur and Kagawa Prefecture.
During the session, the delegation leader and representatives from the Manipur government exchanged insights on strengthening institutional ties and promoting people-to-people connections.
The delegation presented an overview of Kagawa Prefecture, emphasizing its socio-economic landscape, industrial capabilities, and increasing involvement with foreign human resources.
They discussed the current status of foreign human resource integration in Kagawa and expressed a strong interest in collaborating with Manipur to address workforce needs in critical sectors such as agriculture, forestry, construction, manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade, and social welfare, particularly in nursing care.
With the growing demand for skilled and semi-skilled labor in these fields, the Japanese representatives indicated their readiness to explore structured and mutually beneficial engagement opportunities.
Officials from various departments of the Manipur government, including Trade, Commerce and Industries, Health and Family Welfare, and Agriculture, participated in the discussions, sharing insights on Manipur’s capabilities and potential in human resource development, especially in nursing and healthcare.
This visit signifies a crucial step towards fostering international cooperation and creating new opportunities for employment, skill enhancement, and institutional partnerships between Manipur and Kagawa Prefecture.
