Minister's Visit to Delhi Metro


New Delhi: On Saturday, Toshimitsu Motegi, Japan's Foreign Minister, took a ride on the Delhi Metro, accompanied by Keiichi Ono, the Japanese Ambassador to India, during his visit to the capital.


According to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the minister and his team received insights about the Delhi Metro project from senior officials at the Central Secretariat Metro station.


The delegation traveled from Central Secretariat to Patel Chowk and back, where the minister expressed significant interest in various facets of the Metro's construction and operational processes.


The DMRC highlighted that the Delhi Metro symbolizes the friendship and collaboration between India and Japan, showcasing the enduring partnership in infrastructure development.


Furthermore, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has been instrumental in financing the Delhi Metro project since its initial phase, contributing significantly to its growth and expansion.
