Significant Drug Enforcement Achievements in Jammu

In a robust initiative against drug trafficking, Jammu police apprehended 311 individuals involved in drug offenses in 2025, including 35 women. Additionally, law enforcement seized heroin valued at over ₹60 crores, as reported by an official.


A police spokesperson revealed that, apart from the arrests and seizures, 11 notorious traffickers were detained under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, while 48 individuals were convicted over the past year.


The spokesperson emphasized that Jammu police achieved notable success in combating drug-related issues throughout 2025, implementing a zero-tolerance policy through focused enforcement, intelligence-driven operations, and community engagement.


During the last year, a total of 204 cases were registered under the NDPS Act, leading to the arrest of 311 suspects, including 35 women.


Furthermore, 71 vehicles used in drug trafficking were confiscated, with 207 individuals arrested in connection with heroin possession. The seizures included over 15 kilograms of heroin worth ₹60 crores in the international market, along with 78 kilograms of cannabis and 114 kilograms of opium husk, in addition to a significant quantity of capsules and opium.
