Jammu and Kashmir Establishes Narrow Advantage

On Day 2 of the Irani Cup at Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium, Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) managed to score 278 runs, gaining a 41-run lead in their first innings. The Rest of India concluded the day at 24 runs for the loss of one wicket.

Starting their innings at 21 for 2, J&K relied heavily on their captain Paras Dogra, who scored 75 runs, along with Abdul Samad contributing 57 runs and Nasir Muzaffar adding 64 runs. Their efforts helped the team surpass the Rest of India's first-innings score of 237. Mukesh Choudhary was the standout bowler for the Rest of India, taking 5 wickets for 78 runs, while Mukesh Kumar added two more to the tally.

Choudhary made an early impact by dismissing Shubham Khajuria and Qamran Iqbal, later claiming Dogra's wicket, which kept the match competitive. Dogra and Samad formed a vital partnership to stabilize the innings, although J&K lost wickets at regular intervals.

Nasir Muzaffar's aggressive 64 from the lower order proved crucial, allowing J&K to secure a 41-run lead.

Rest of India Struggles at Stumps

The Rest of India, who were bowled out for 237 on the first day, began their second innings later in the day. They lost Shikhar Mohan for just two runs but managed to reach 24 for 1 by the end of the day, trailing J&K by 17 runs.

The visitors will aim to quickly dismiss the remaining J&K batsmen and establish a significant lead in their second innings on Day 3.
