Expansion of MBBS Seats in Jammu

Good news has emerged for the youth in Jammu and Kashmir aspiring for medical education. The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved an increase of 50 additional MBBS seats at the Government Medical College in Jammu. This information was officially shared by a government spokesperson on Monday.

The spokesperson indicated that the Medical Assessment and Rating Board of the NMC has issued an approval letter for these extra seats. With this new authorization, the total number of MBBS seats at the Government Medical College in Jammu will rise to 250 for the upcoming academic session.

It's noteworthy that just last week, the NMC also granted approval for 50 additional seats at the Government Medical College in Srinagar, bringing the total there to 250 as well. The Health and Medical Education Department has responded positively to this expansion.

According to the department, this increase in seats reflects the government's commitment to strengthening the healthcare infrastructure and enhancing human resource capacity in the medical field. This will provide local youth with greater opportunities to pursue medical education and build better careers within their own region.
