James Harden, the NBA superstar, was taken into custody in Texas early Saturday morning on charges of unlawfully carrying a weapon, as reported by various sources. Authorities indicated that Harden was found with a handgun in his vehicle, which was reportedly visible and not secured in a holster. This offense is classified as a misdemeanor. Following his arrest, Harden was released on bond and is set to appear in court on June 22. As part of his bail conditions, he is prohibited from owning firearms, ammunition, or any other weapons. Additionally, he cannot consume alcohol, controlled substances, or marijuana unless prescribed by a medical professional. The court has also mandated that he undergo random drug testing.

The incident took place in Houston, where Harden has a significant presence due to his nine-year tenure with the Houston Rockets. Currently, he plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers, who were recently ousted by the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals. Known as "The Beard," Harden has maintained strong connections to Houston, despite his career spanning multiple teams. The 36-year-old entered the NBA in 2009 after being drafted third overall by the Oklahoma City Thunder and has also played for the Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, and Los Angeles Clippers.
