Eateries in Jajpur District to Resume Operations

Jajpur Town: Starting July 1, all hotels, roadside food stalls, soft drink vendors, and mobile eateries in Jajpur district will be allowed to reopen, following a directive from the District Collector issued on Saturday.

This decision was communicated through an official letter (No. 4863, dated June 28, 2025), which outlined the reopening of these establishments that had been closed due to a diarrhoea outbreak in the area.

The directive has been shared with all tehsildars, municipal executive officers, the health officer of Jajpur Municipality, and heads of police stations throughout the district.

The collector's instructions stress the importance of maintaining hygiene standards. Business owners must ensure cleanliness in their premises, proper food storage, and the use of safe drinking water.

This decision comes after a noticeable decrease in diarrhoea cases in the region. Previously, traders and vendors had requested the district collector to reconsider the closure order.

Taking into account the public's need for food services, the livelihoods of mobile vendors, and the current health conditions, the district administration has decided to permit the reopening while enforcing safety protocols.
