Arrest Made in Jewelry Scam Case

The Jaipur police have apprehended an individual accused of defrauding a young woman from Ahmedabad out of her jewelry. This information was confirmed by police officials.


According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Tejasvini Gautam, the suspect, identified as Neeraj Kumar, 26, was taken into custody following a complaint filed by the victim on Saturday.


The victim, who works as a jeweler, reported that she had befriended the accused on Facebook, where he posed as an official. She had traveled to Jaipur to attend an event.


During her visit, the accused invited her to meet and deceitfully obtained a diamond necklace and bracelet from her. The police have recovered the stolen jewelry and the vehicle used in the crime from the suspect's possession.


Authorities noted that there are previous cases registered against the accused in Jaipur and Sikar, where he allegedly committed similar frauds while impersonating an official.
