Jaipur Development Authority Dismantles Illegal Colonies on Agricultural Land
Destruction of Illegal Colonies in Jaipur
On June 27, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) took decisive action by demolishing three illegal colonies built on approximately 11 bighas of agricultural land in Zone-12. Additionally, two more illegal colonies were dismantled on around 8 bighas of agricultural land in Zone-13. The JDA also cleared encroachments on the Jautadawala Road in Zone-08.
Inspector General of Police, Kailash Chandra Vishnoi, reported that in the jurisdiction of Zone-12, illegal constructions were identified on about 6 bighas of agricultural land near Kalwar Road, Bhopawas village, behind a government school. These included unauthorized gravel roads and boundary walls built without JDA approval. The enforcement team, aided by JCB machinery and laborers, successfully demolished these structures to thwart the establishment of new illegal colonies.
In Zone-13, near Kanota village and Mokshdham, approximately 1 bigha of agricultural land was also cleared of illegal constructions, including a gravel road named 'Govardhan Market,' which was created without the necessary approvals. Similar actions were taken in Sindoli village, where about 7 bighas of land were cleared of unauthorized developments named 'Shreeji Nagar.'
Furthermore, in Zone-08, encroachments on Jautadawala Road had obstructed drainage, causing water accumulation and significant inconvenience to local residents. Upon receiving complaints, the enforcement team removed the debris and restored the road to its original state.
These operations were conducted under the supervision of Chief Controller of Enforcement, Adarsh Chaudhary, with the assistance of various enforcement officers and technical staff from the JDA.
Since the beginning of 2024, the enforcement department has successfully dismantled a total of 584 illegal colonies, with 383 in 2024 and 201 in 2025, effectively preventing further illegal developments.
