Destruction of Illegal Colonies

On June 3, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) took decisive action by demolishing three illegal colonies built on approximately six bighas of private agricultural land in Zone-12. Additionally, unauthorized constructions covering setback areas at Plot No. 88 in Shakti Nagar, Zone-5, were also dismantled.

According to Inspector General of Police Kailash Chandra Vishnoi, the enforcement team acted on information regarding illegal constructions on about two bighas of private agricultural land on Sirsi Road, Jaipur district. These constructions included unapproved soil and gravel roads and other unauthorized structures intended for a new illegal colony. The demolition was carried out with the assistance of JCB machines and laborers, effectively thwarting the establishment of the illegal colony.

In the vicinity of Nimerda village, also located on Sirsi Road, the JDA received reports of illegal constructions on another two bighas of private agricultural land. Similar actions were taken to demolish unauthorized roads and boundary walls made of cement blocks, preventing the establishment of yet another illegal colony.

The enforcement team, supported by the revenue and technical staff from Zone-12, utilized JCB machines and laborers to carry out these demolitions effectively.

In total, the enforcement department has successfully dismantled 554 illegal colonies since 2024, with 383 demolished that year and 171 in 2025, thereby curbing attempts to establish unauthorized colonies.
