Jaipur Development Authority Clears Encroachments on Public Land

Encroachment Removal in Jaipur
On June 16, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) successfully cleared encroachments along a 2-kilometer stretch from Malpura Gate Circle to the Sanganer Railway Station, extending to Dadabadi Circle. This area, part of Zone-8, had its 100-foot sector road boundary freed from illegal occupations.
According to Inspector General of Police Kailash Chandra Vishnoi, the operation targeted approximately 125 encroachment sites where temporary structures such as platforms, stairs, walls, iron angles, tin sheds, carts, hoardings, and tables had been erected illegally. Despite warnings to the encroachers to vacate the area, they failed to comply, prompting a joint operation with the Greater Municipal Corporation.
On June 16, 2025, with the assistance of JCB machines and laborers, the JDA's revenue and technical staff demolished these illegal structures, restoring the 100-foot sector road boundary. This operation was conducted under the supervision of Chief Enforcement Controller Adarsh Chaudhary and Deputy Commissioner of Zone-8, Upendra Sharma.
In Zone-10, near the Sumel Scheme, the JDA also reclaimed about 5 bighas of government land that had been illegally leveled and converted into a dirt road. Following reports of this encroachment, the enforcement team acted swiftly to clear the area.
These actions were carried out with the support of additional police forces from the Jaipur City Police Commissionerate, local police, and the Greater Municipal Corporation, ensuring a comprehensive approach to restoring public land.
In total, the enforcement department has reclaimed 1,262 bighas of government land from encroachment, with 817 bighas cleared in 2024 and 445 bighas in 2025.
