Overview of the ISSO Chess Games

The ISSO Chess Games wrapped up at Adani International School in Ahmedabad after two days filled with intense competition, attracting more than 400 young chess enthusiasts from 102 international schools across India.

Support and Objectives

The event was backed by the Adani Group, a long-time supporter of ISSO, which aims to provide meaningful sporting opportunities for students. The Games were organized to foster structured competitive environments and nurture future sporting talent.

Event Highlights and Special Guests

The tournament featured categories for Under-11, Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 for both boys and girls, with participants competing in eight different categories. This competition not only offered players exposure to chess but also promoted skills like strategic thinking, concentration, and resilience.

The opening day was graced by Indian chess Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa and Gujarat's Deputy Chief Minister, Harsh Sanghavi, who motivated the young competitors. Praggnanandhaa engaged with the players, while the Deputy Chief Minister emphasized the importance of early talent identification and the need for platforms to develop young athletes.
