ISRO's Successful Launch of NISAR Satellite Marks a Milestone in Precision
ISRO Celebrates Precision in NISAR Satellite Launch
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman, V. Narayanan, announced that the launch of the NISAR satellite stands out as one of the most precise launches globally. He expressed excitement over NASA's enthusiasm regarding India's successful deployment of the indigenous GSLV Mark rocket.
During a press interaction at the international airport on Thursday night, Narayanan shared insights about the launch. On Wednesday, ISRO successfully placed the NISAR (NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar) into orbit using the GSLV-F16 rocket from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.
In response to a question, Narayanan noted that NASA was thrilled to learn about India's successful launch utilizing the domestically developed GSLV Mark rocket, expressing their joy and excitement.
According to Narayanan, this launch is among the most accurate in the world, with flawless operations at every stage of the rocket's journey, placing the satellite into orbit with an impressive precision of just two to three kilometers. He described this achievement as an unimaginable milestone for ISRO.
He further stated, 'This is one of the most precise launches ever conducted globally... Today, the entire nation can take pride in the fact that a satellite jointly developed by India and the United States has been successfully placed into orbit using an Indian launch vehicle.'
