Israel's Netanyahu Justifies Action Against Iran's Nuclear Program
Urgent Measures Against Iran's Nuclear Threat
Jerusalem, Mar 3: On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserted that Israel and the United States took action against Iran due to the country's revival of its nuclear program, which he claimed could become "immune" within a few months.
In an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu emphasized the necessity of a preemptive strike, citing Iran's construction of new underground facilities designed to protect its missile and nuclear initiatives from potential attacks.
He stated, "They have begun to establish new sites, including underground bunkers, which would render their ballistic missile and atomic bomb programs immune in a matter of months. If we do not act now, future actions may be impossible," he explained.
Netanyahu recalled that following Israel's previous strikes on Iranian nuclear and missile sites during the 12-day conflict last June, Iran had initiated the construction of these new facilities.
This assertion contradicts earlier statements made by Netanyahu and former US President Donald Trump, who had proclaimed a significant victory over Iran, suggesting that its nuclear program had been completely dismantled.
Critics have raised concerns about these claims, suggesting that Iran may have relocated and secured its enriched uranium before the attacks.
During the interview, Netanyahu refuted the notion that the US and Israel were entering into an "endless war" with Iran, asserting that the operation would conclude swiftly.
"I hear people suggesting that this will lead to an endless conflict. That is not the case because... this terror regime in Iran is at its weakest point since its inception," he stated.
He further claimed that the coordinated strikes by the US and Israel would pave the way for potential regime change in Iran.
Netanyahu also remarked that "95%" of the issues in the Middle East stem from Iran, predicting that the regime's downfall would result in a surge of peace agreements between Israel and its Arab and Muslim neighbors.
He expressed confidence that the joint operations would lead to a new era of peace that had previously seemed unattainable.
In response to allegations that Israel had entangled the US in conflict, Netanyahu dismissed the criticisms, stating, "That's absurd. Donald Trump is the strongest leader globally. He acts according to what he believes is best for America and future generations," emphasizing that the US president recognizes the threats posed by Iran.
