Evacuation Alert in Tehran

Jerusalem: On Monday, Israel issued a warning for residents in a municipal district of Tehran, urging them to evacuate immediately in anticipation of airstrikes.

Avichay Adraee, a spokesperson for the Israeli military, posted on social media in both Persian and Arabic, advising those in District C, situated in the northeastern section of the city, to leave the area.

"The Israeli army will be conducting operations in this region shortly, similar to recent actions taken in other parts of Tehran, targeting military assets linked to the Iranian government," Adraee stated.

"Your safety is at risk in this area. We strongly recommend that you evacuate immediately for your own protection," he added.

District C houses several key state institutions, government offices, and semi-governmental organizations, along with communication and intelligence facilities, according to reports from Xinhua news agency. The Israeli military confirmed that its warplanes had been targeting trucks carrying weapons and surface-to-air missile systems moving from western Iran towards Tehran since early morning.

In a related development, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz visited the Tel Nof airbase in southern Israel. During their visit, Netanyahu asserted that the Israeli Air Force "dominates the skies over Tehran," claiming, "We are progressing towards our two primary goals: neutralizing the nuclear threat and dismantling the missile threat."

In response, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei accused Israel of attempting to escalate the conflict to other nations in the West Asia region.

Speaking at a weekly press briefing, he condemned Israel's ongoing "aggression" against Iran, which began early Friday.

Baghaei remarked, "We are certain that Israel aims to intensify the conflict and extend it to other countries and actors in the region," further alleging that Israel had targeted residential areas and a children's hospital in Tehran.

He emphasized that Iran's nuclear program is merely a pretext for Israel's actions, asserting that there is no evidence to suggest any deviation from the "peaceful path" of Iran's nuclear endeavors.
