Escalation Amid Ceasefire Declaration

On Tuesday, Israel executed a series of airstrikes across various locations in Iran, shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump proclaimed an end to the ongoing conflict between the two nations. According to reports from an Iranian news outlet, the Israeli military targeted multiple sites within Iran.

The news outlet shared on social media, stating, "Israeli military strikes several locations in Iran as Trump announces ceasefire." This unexpected development followed Trump's announcement that both Israel and Iran had reached a 'complete and total ceasefire.' On his social media platform, Trump indicated that the ceasefire would commence in about six hours.

In his announcement, Trump expressed, "CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!"

Earlier on the same day, following Trump's ceasefire declaration, Iranian Foreign Minister Sayed Abbas Araghchi responded, stating, "Israel started this war — not us. There’s no ceasefire yet. If Israeli aggression stops by 4 AM Tehran time, Iran won’t escalate further. Final decision still pending."

The Iranian news outlet also released CCTV footage capturing the moment of an Israeli strike in central Tehran, showcasing the attack and the subsequent shockwave.
