Israel's Stance on Iran's Military Capabilities
Late Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserted that Iran no longer possesses the capability to enrich uranium or develop ballistic missiles. In response to an Israeli attack on a significant gas field, Iran has escalated its assaults on oil and gas facilities in Gulf nations, intensifying the conflict and impacting the global economy.
Netanyahu mentioned that Israel would refrain from further attacks on Iran's vast natural gas field at the request of U.S. President Donald Trump. Trump assured that Israel would not target the South Pars gas field again, but warned that if Iran attacked Qatar once more, the U.S. would retaliate decisively, potentially devastating the entire region.
U.S. and Israeli Military Operations Against Iran
Earlier on Thursday, a significant press conference at the Pentagon featured U.S. and Israeli military leaders discussing the ongoing military operation, dubbed 'Operation Epic Fury,' against Iran. While Israel claims to have diminished Iran's nuclear and missile enhancement capabilities, U.S. military generals cautioned that Iran still retains some retaliatory capabilities.
General Dan Caine, Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, clarified that despite the substantial damage inflicted on Iran, it would be premature to consider the nation completely incapacitated. He noted that Iran entered this conflict with a vast arsenal of weapons, which is why the U.S. continues to conduct aggressive strikes on Iranian missile and drone launch sites. Iran still has the ability to target U.S. assets and allies in the Middle East, particularly oil facilities and commercial vessels.
IDF's Historic Strike in the Caspian Sea
In a groundbreaking move, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have launched an attack on Iranian naval infrastructure in the Caspian Sea for the first time. Based on intelligence, these strikes targeted Iranian naval ports, missile ships, and guard boats. This operation signifies that Israel's reach has extended to previously secure areas of Iran. According to the IDF, dozens of military vessels and maintenance facilities were destroyed during this operation.
