Former cricketer Priyank Panchal has lauded Ishan Kishan for his dynamic performance and diverse shot selection. Panchal noted that Kishan possesses the ability to both defend and attack effectively against spin bowlers. He remarked, "It's no surprise to see Ishan Kishan unleash his full potential in the #VijayHazare Trophy. He is explosive, has a wide array of shots, and unlike many current Indian batsmen, he can adeptly handle spin bowling. Kishan's Record-Breaking Performance

Ishan Kishan is making a strong case for selection in the Indian squad for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand after scoring a remarkable century off just 33 balls for Jharkhand against Karnataka in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match held in Ahmedabad. This innings marks the second-fastest century by an Indian in List A cricket, falling just short of Bihar captain Sakibul Gani's record of 32 balls, which was also achieved earlier on the same day. Kishan recently made a comeback to the Indian team for the T20 World Cup after leading Jharkhand to its first Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title, amassing 517 runs in the tournament, including a crucial century in the final against Haryana.


Vijay Hazare Trophy: Jharkhand vs Karnataka

In the match against Karnataka, Kishan scored 125 runs off only 39 balls, hitting seven fours and an impressive 14 sixes, achieving a strike rate of 320.51.


Jharkhand Sets a High Target

In the match, Karnataka won the toss and chose to field first. Jharkhand had a rocky start, losing opener Utkarsh Singh for just eight runs. Shubh Sharma also fell early, dismissed by Shreyas Gopal for 15 runs. Shikhar Mohan contributed a solid 44 runs before being dismissed by Abhilash Shetty in the 24th over.


Following this, Virat Singh and Kumar Kushagra stabilized the innings, forming a partnership of 129 runs for the fourth wicket before Kushagra was dismissed by Gopal for 63 runs. Singh later returned to the pavilion after scoring 88 runs off 68 balls.


Kishan capped off the innings with his explosive century, propelling Jharkhand to a total of 412 runs for 9 wickets in their allotted 50 overs.


Padikkal Leads Karnataka to Victory

In response, Karnataka's opener Devdutt Padikkal delivered a stellar performance, scoring 147 runs off 118 balls, which included 10 fours and seven sixes, enabling his team to successfully chase down the daunting target of 413 runs in just 47.3 overs. Other notable contributions came from captain Mayank Agarwal (54 runs off 34 balls), Karun Nair (29 runs off 27 balls), Ravichandran Smaran (27 runs off 21 balls), Abhinav Manohar (56* runs off 32 balls), and Dhruv Prabhakar (40* runs off 22 balls).
