Kishan's Stellar Performance

Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan is making a strong case for selection in India's squad for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand. He achieved this by scoring a remarkable century off just 33 balls for Jharkhand in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match held in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

This explosive century marks the second-fastest in List A cricket by an Indian, falling just short of Bihar captain Sakibul Gani's record of a 32-ball century against Arunachal Pradesh, which also took place earlier on the same day.

Kishan's Recent Achievements

Recently, Kishan was recalled to the Indian team for the T20 World Cup, shortly after leading Jharkhand to its first Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title. His performance has been outstanding, accumulating 517 runs in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which includes a crucial century in the final against Haryana.

In the match against Karnataka, Kishan scored 125 runs off just 39 balls, hitting seven fours and an impressive 14 sixes, achieving a strike rate of 320.51.

Summary of Jharkhand's Innings

In the match, Karnataka won the toss and chose to field first. Jharkhand faced an early setback when opener Utkarsh Singh was dismissed for just eight runs. Shubh Sharma also fell quickly, bowled out by Shreyas Gopal for 15 runs. Shikhar Mohan contributed a solid 44 runs before being dismissed by Abhilash Shetty in the 24th over.

Following this, Virat Singh and Kumar Kushagra built a strong partnership, adding 129 runs for the fourth wicket. Kushagra scored 63 runs before being dismissed by Gopal, while Singh made 88 runs off 68 balls.

Kishan then capped off the innings with his explosive century, helping Jharkhand post a total of 412 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 50 overs.
