Is Raj Kushwaha Innocent? Family Claims False Accusations in Shocking Murder Case

Family Defends Raj Kushwaha Amid Murder Allegations

Indore: As the investigation into the disturbing murder of Raja Raghuvanshi progresses, Raj Kushwaha's family has stepped forward to assert his innocence, alleging that he is being wrongfully accused.

Raj, along with four other suspects, including his brother-in-law Sonam Raghuvanshi, Anand Kurmi, Akash Rajput, and Vishal Singh Chauhan, was brought before a Shillong court by Meghalaya Police after being interrogated by the Special Investigation Team (SIT).

In a statement to a news agency, Raj's sister insisted that he was at home during the time of the crime in Meghalaya and that he has been unjustly implicated in the murder.

"My brother is innocent, and these accusations are baseless. I believe he will be exonerated. He should not face punishment for something he did not do. A thorough investigation is necessary, and he must be released," she stated.

She dismissed rumors of a romantic involvement between Raj and Sonam, clarifying that he regarded her as an elder sister and referred to her as "didi (sister)."

"We only learned about this supposed relationship through the media when they mentioned text messages. We were completely unaware. I doubt its authenticity. Everyone is lying. He always called Sonam 'didi.' How could they be in a relationship? He is five years younger than her. He was at home the entire time and did not go anywhere else," she added.

Sonam Raghuvanshi was arrested by Meghalaya Police after turning herself in at the Nandganj police station in Ghazipur district, Uttar Pradesh, early Monday morning.

Authorities allege that Sonam plotted her husband's murder during their honeymoon in Meghalaya by hiring hitmen.

Her surrender followed intense pressure from a multi-state investigation involving police teams from Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.

Investigators have indicated that Call Detail Records (CDRs) between Sonam and Raj showed frequent communication, raising suspicions of a conspiracy to murder Raja Raghuvanshi.

Despite these developments, Raj's family maintains his innocence, calling for a fair investigation and justice in what they believe is a case of wrongful accusation.
