Confirmation of Khamenei's Death

Media outlets linked to the Iranian state have reported the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, asserting that he was killed in coordinated strikes by the United States and Israel. The Tasnim and Fars news agencies announced that Khamenei had been 'martyred.' Tasnim shared on social media platform X: 'Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji'un. The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran has been martyred. We hereby inform the devoted, martyr-loving people of Iran that His Eminence Ayatollah al-Uzma Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, was martyred in a joint attack by the criminal America and the Zionist regime on the morning of Monday, the ninth of Esfand.'

Fars News Agency echoed this sentiment, stating: 'We belong to Allah and we shall return to Him. The Supreme Leader of the Revolution was martyred.'

Iran's state broadcaster IRIB remarked, 'the most famous leader in the world is now gone,' in reference to Khamenei. Following this announcement, the Iranian government declared a period of 40 days of national mourning, attributing his death to US-Israeli aggression. Khamenei had been a prominent figure in Iran for decades, known for his strong opposition to both Israel and the United States.

Earlier, former President Donald Trump confirmed Khamenei's death and encouraged the Iranian populace to seize control of their government. Initially, Iranian officials dismissed the reports of his death as psychological warfare; however, on Sunday morning, as the conflict escalated with renewed attacks, Iran's state news agency verified that the Supreme Leader had indeed passed away.
