Iran's Commitment Amidst Tensions

The countdown initiated by Donald Trump for Iran to return to the negotiation table is ongoing. In this context, Iranian President Masoud Pajeshkian has declared that Iranians are prepared to sacrifice their lives for the defense of their nation. He expressed these sentiments in a post on X, stating his own readiness to make sacrifices for the country. Pajeshkian noted that over 14 million proud Iranians have shown their willingness to give their lives for Iran's defense. He affirmed, 'I have sacrificed for Iran, I am sacrificing, and I will continue to do so.' Previously, Iran's Deputy Minister of Sports, Alireza Rahimi, called upon the country's athletes and artists to form a human chain around power plants. He described this initiative as a symbolic and physical effort to prevent potential airstrikes following Trump's multiple ultimatums. He invited youth, athletes, artists, students, and teachers to gather near power plants at 2 PM local time on Tuesday, emphasizing that these are our assets and resources.

Trump's Deadline for Iran

Trump's Deadline for Iran

The call for human shields was made in response to Trump's ultimatum for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for global shipping by 8:00 PM on Tuesday (Washington time). Trump warned that if Iran fails to comply, there would be massive and simultaneous bombings targeting all power plants and bridges. He stated on Monday that the goal is to leave these facilities in a state of burning, exploding, and rendered unusable within four hours. During a press briefing at the White House, Trump remarked that the entire country could be devastated in a single night, and that night could be as soon as tomorrow. He reiterated the ultimatum, insisting that Iran must reach an agreement before 8:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Tuesday, warning that after this deadline, there would be no bridges or power plants left standing. Trump characterized the current situation as a delicate phase, asserting that Washington has already provided Tehran with ample time to negotiate and end the conflict.
