Iran's Response to Potential Aggression

Tehran: On Tuesday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared that any attack on Iran would be met with a severe response. This statement seems to be a direct reaction to US President Donald Trump's recent comments regarding Iran's nuclear program.

Pezeshkian emphasized on the social media platform X, stating, “The Islamic Republic of Iran will respond harshly to any cruel aggression.”

His remarks followed Trump's warning that the US might consider military action if Iran attempts to revive its nuclear program.

During a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, Trump expressed concerns about Iran's intentions. He stated, “Now I hear that Iran is trying to build up again. If they are, we’re going to have to knock them down. We’ll knock them down. We’ll knock the hell out of them. But hopefully that’s not happening.”

The discussions between Trump and Netanyahu included the potential for renewed military operations against Iran, following a recent air conflict that resulted in significant casualties, including nearly 1,100 Iranians.

Trump hinted at the possibility of further US strikes against Iran, asserting, “If it’s confirmed, they know the consequences, and the consequences will be very powerful, maybe more powerful than the last time.”

Pezeshkian noted that tensions have escalated, stating, “We are in a full-scale war with the US, Israel, and Europe; they don’t want our country to remain stable.”

Iran has maintained that it is not currently enriching uranium at any of its facilities, signaling a willingness to engage in negotiations regarding its nuclear program.

US intelligence and the International Atomic Energy Agency have indicated that Iran last had a structured nuclear weapons program in 2003, although Tehran has been enriching uranium to levels close to weapons-grade.
