Iran-Pakistan Diplomatic Developments
Shortly after the arrival of Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Pakistan, the Iranian government clarified that there would be no direct discussions with representatives from the United States during this visit. The spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baqai, stated on the social media platform 'X', "There are no plans for a meeting between Iran and the US."
Baqai further explained that instead of direct talks, Pakistani officials would facilitate the exchange of messages between the two delegations. He expressed gratitude to the Pakistani government for its ongoing mediation and goodwill efforts aimed at ending the "aggressive war imposed by the US." Earlier on Friday, the official residence and office of the US President, the White House, had announced that its envoy would meet with Araghchi.
