In a recent interview with state media, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi disclosed that he has not had any personal meetings with the new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, since the onset of the war. Araghchi indicated that even high-ranking officials face significant restrictions in accessing Khamenei. This statement arises amidst increasing scrutiny regarding the leadership of Mojtaba Khamenei.

When asked about his interactions with Khamenei, Araghchi responded, "I haven't seen him during this time. I believe very few individuals have had the opportunity to meet him." He also mentioned that Khamenei is expected to be elected to the Assembly of Experts.

Mojtaba Khamenei assumed the role of Supreme Leader following the death of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, due to US-Israeli strikes on February 28. Reports indicate that he sustained severe injuries in the attack that claimed his father's life and has not appeared publicly since the conflict began. Sources close to him have revealed that he suffered facial disfigurement and significant leg injuries.

Despite his absence from public view, Iranian officials assert that he is recuperating and has been involved in directing negotiations with the United States. Khamenei was anticipated to attend his father's funeral; however, he did not appear alongside his brothers, Mostafa, Meysam, and Masoud Khamenei, who were seen praying at the Imam Khomeini Grand Mosalla in Tehran.

Furthermore, a report from Saudi Arabia's al-Hadath, citing an Israeli security source, claimed that Mojtaba Khamenei is currently outside Iran, with his public statements being crafted by Ahmad Vahidi, the newly appointed chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), along with other senior IRGC officials.
