Iran's Foreign Minister Criticizes US Actions

On Sunday, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, condemned the United States for its military actions against the nation's nuclear facilities. He labeled these attacks as a serious breach of the UN Charter, international law, and the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). Araghchi emphasized that such assaults on Iran's peaceful nuclear endeavors would have long-lasting repercussions.


In a post on X, he stated, "The United States, a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, has committed a grave violation of the UN Charter, international law, and the NPT by attacking Iran's peaceful nuclear installations."


He expressed concern over the alarming nature of the situation, urging all UN member states to recognize this as a dangerous and unlawful act.


Araghchi remarked, "The events this morning are outrageous and will have everlasting consequences. Every member of the UN must be alarmed over this extremely dangerous, lawless, and criminal behavior."


Reaffirming Iran's stance, he declared that the country reserves the right to defend its sovereignty and interests in line with the provisions of the UN Charter.


He stated, "In accordance with the UN Charter and its provisions allowing a legitimate response in self-defense, Iran reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interests, and people."



US Military Strikes on Iran's Nuclear Facilities

In a related development, US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that Iran's significant nuclear enrichment sites had been entirely destroyed following military operations.


He proclaimed, "Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success. Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated."


Trump praised the American military, referring to them as "great American patriots," and expressed his gratitude, stating, "I want to congratulate the great American patriots who flew those magnificent machines tonight… Hopefully, we will no longer need their services and this capacity. I hope that so."
