Iran's Claims of Downing Israeli F-35s Denied by IDF: What’s Really Happening?

IDF Refutes Iranian Claims

Jerusalem: On Saturday, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) accused Iranian media of disseminating false information, specifically regarding claims that two Israeli F-35 fighter jets had been shot down, labeling these reports as ‘fake news’.

Iranian sources asserted that their military's air defense successfully targeted and destroyed two Israeli F-35s along with several other unmanned aerial vehicles.

Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani, the IDF's international spokesperson, took to social media to denounce the claims as ‘complete FAKE NEWS’.

He emphasized that while Iran spreads misinformation, the IDF is actively neutralizing real threats, sharing a video of an Iranian UAV being intercepted over northern Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the initiation of ‘Operation Rising Lion’ on Friday, a strategic military campaign aimed at countering the Iranian nuclear threat, asserting that the operation will persist until the threat is neutralized.

Tensions in the region intensified early Saturday as Iran launched a new series of missile strikes against Israel, escalating the ongoing hostilities.

According to IDF Spokesperson Brigadier General Efi Dufferin, two waves of surface-to-surface missiles were fired from Iran towards Israel, with fewer than a hundred missiles launched in total. Most were intercepted by Israel's air defense systems, resulting in minimal damage.

Dufferin reiterated Israel's commitment to preventing Iran from enhancing its missile capabilities, which could pose a significant threat to the nation’s security.

He warned that further attacks could occur in the future, stating, ‘We are actively working to eliminate this threat.’
