Iran's Ambassador to Pakistan Deletes Controversial Post on Delegation Visit
Iranian Delegation's Planned Visit to Pakistan Raises Eyebrows
Reza Amiri Moghadam, the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, recently removed a post from X, previously known as Twitter, which announced that an Iranian delegation would be heading to Pakistan. This announcement came amidst doubts regarding the effectiveness of the two-week ceasefire currently in effect, which has seen multiple violations. In his original post, Moghadam expressed that despite the skepticism from the Iranian public regarding the ceasefire violations by the Israeli regime, the delegation was set to arrive in Islamabad for crucial discussions based on ten points proposed by Iran.
However, the post was swiftly deleted for reasons that remain unclear, raising further concerns about the stability of the fragile ceasefire. Reports from Deccan Herald, citing AFP, indicate that the Iranian embassy stated the envoy's post was made too soon. This deletion has sparked speculation about whether the Iranian delegation will still proceed with their visit to Islamabad.
According to the planned agenda, both US and Iranian representatives are expected to engage in talks in Islamabad over the upcoming weekend. These discussions aim to explore a path forward amidst the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict, as the temporary halt in fighting is intended to create space for a lasting resolution, including negotiations on Iran's ten-point proposal and Trump's fifteen-point plan.
