Iran Strikes Back: Missiles Target US Bases in Qatar and Iraq Amid Rising Tensions

Escalation of Hostilities in the Middle East

Dubai: On Monday, Iran executed missile strikes against US military installations in both Qatar and Iraq, marking a significant escalation in regional tensions following American airstrikes on its nuclear facilities.

Residents in Doha, the capital of Qatar, paused to observe as missiles soared overhead, with interceptors successfully targeting at least one projectile in the night sky.

Iran's state television confirmed the assault on American forces stationed at the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

A broadcast caption described the operation as 'a mighty and successful response' to what it termed 'America's aggression,' accompanied by martial music.

Additionally, the Ain al-Assad base, which houses US troops in western Iraq, was also targeted, according to an Iraqi security official who requested anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the information.

These missile attacks occurred shortly after Qatar took precautionary measures by closing its airspace in response to threats from Iran.
