Iran Rejects Pakistan's Mediation Claims Amid Ongoing Middle East Conflict
Iran Denies Mediation Role
Tehran: On Monday, Iran refuted claims made by Pakistan regarding its mediation efforts between Tehran and Washington aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The Iranian Consulate General in Mumbai clarified that there are no direct discussions with the United States, asserting that Pakistan's diplomatic channels are independent and that Iran did not engage in any such negotiations. The statement emphasized, "There are no direct talks with the US; only unreasonable demands are being communicated through intermediaries. The US diplomatic approach is inconsistent, and our position remains firm. While we welcome regional calls for peace, it is crucial to acknowledge who initiated the conflict!"

This statement from Iran followed Pakistan's recent hosting of foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey in Islamabad to discuss the war in Iran. Following the talks, Pakistan announced that the diplomats had returned to their respective countries. Initially, the discussions were set to continue on Monday. Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar expressed satisfaction, stating, "Pakistan is honored that both Iran and the US have shown confidence in our ability to facilitate dialogue. We look forward to hosting meaningful discussions between the two parties in the near future."
Israel's Response: Israel also dismissed Pakistan's mediation efforts. Fleur Hassan-Nahoum, a Special Envoy from Israel's Foreign Ministry, criticized Pakistan's involvement, suggesting that the country is attempting to maintain its relevance on the global stage. She pointed out Pakistan's history of contributing to global terrorism, stating, "I am unsure of what the Pakistanis believe they are accomplishing. They are a significant issue in the realm of jihadi terrorism."
