Iran's Military Command Issues Warning

On Saturday, Iran announced a reversal in its plans to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, with military officials declaring that they would maintain restrictions on transit through this crucial waterway as long as the US blockade on Iranian ports persists. The military command stated, "The control of the Strait of Hormuz has reverted to its previous state, now under strict oversight by the armed forces." This declaration followed US President Donald Trump's assertion that the blockade would remain intact until Iran negotiates a deal with the US, particularly regarding its nuclear ambitions.

The Strait of Hormuz is vital for global oil trade, facilitating 20-25% of the world's oil shipments. A spokesperson from the Central Headquarters of Hazrat Khatam al-Anbiya (PBUH) remarked, "In good faith, Iran had previously agreed to allow a limited number of oil tankers and commercial vessels to pass through the Strait. However, the US has repeatedly violated its commitments, engaging in what can only be described as piracy and maritime robbery under the guise of a blockade." The spokesperson emphasized that control over the Strait would remain stringent until the US guarantees unrestricted passage for vessels traveling to and from Iran.
