In the early hours of April 7, Iran executed a missile and drone assault targeting Saudi Arabia, specifically aiming at Al Jubail. This attack ignited a significant fire at the site, which is recognized as the largest industrial center in the Middle East, hosting crucial petrochemical and energy infrastructures.

The extensive industrial area covers over 1,000 square kilometers in the Eastern Province and is responsible for more than 7% of Saudi Arabia's GDP, featuring significant operations in petrochemicals, oil refining, and steel production.

According to Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Defense, their air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed seven ballistic missiles that were directed towards the eastern region, where Al Jubail is situated. An official spokesperson confirmed the interception, stating that debris from the missiles fell near energy facilities, and assessments of the damage are currently underway.
