Strengthening Ties Between Iran and India

During a recent press briefing, Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Fathali stated that Indian tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz have not incurred toll fees to Iran. He emphasized the strong relationship between Iran and India, noting that both nations share mutual interests and a collective destiny.

On the diplomatic front, Iran has expressed a willingness to re-engage in discussions with the United States, contingent upon certain prerequisites being met. Fathali mentioned, “If the US agrees to our terms, further talks could be feasible,” following a recent round of negotiations in Islamabad that concluded without a resolution. He criticized the US for making 'unlawful' demands, which contributed to the stalemate.

In response to President Trump's threats regarding a blockade of Iranian ports, Fathali asserted that the US is well aware of Iran's capabilities. He reiterated the significance of Iran and India’s partnership, especially in light of the ongoing crises in West Asia.
