IPL 2025 Put on Hold

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the indefinite suspension of IPL 2025 due to escalating military tensions between India and Pakistan, abruptly halting the current season.

An official from the BCCI confirmed on Friday that the tournament cannot proceed under the prevailing conditions.

This decision follows the cancellation of the Punjab Kings versus Delhi Capitals match in Dharamsala, which was called off due to a power failure and nearby military activity. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia had previously mentioned that the board was 'closely monitoring the situation.'

IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal also noted that the board is in regular communication with the central government, emphasizing that any significant decisions would be made in collaboration with national security advisors.

In light of the heightened tensions that escalated on May 8, several international players have reportedly reached out to their home boards.

PSL 2025 Relocated to UAE

In a related development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has declared that the remaining matches of PSL 2025 will be relocated to the UAE due to the same regional instability. The PCB has confirmed that the tournament will continue in the UAE with increased security and logistical arrangements.
