IPL 2025 Resumption: KKR Welcomes Foreign Players Except Moeen Ali

IPL Set to Resume Amid Tensions
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to restart on May 17, featuring a match between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Following the recent India-Pakistan tensions, there were concerns regarding the participation of overseas players. The match between the Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings was interrupted, causing anxiety among players, particularly those from abroad. However, with the revised schedule now in place, KKR is prepared to field its complete squad, with the exception of England's Moeen Ali.
Moeen Ali's Absence from KKR
As reported by Revsports, Moeen Ali will not be joining KKR for the remainder of the IPL season. Acquired for 2 crores during the auction, his performance has not met expectations, with only 5 and 0 runs in his two batting outings and just 2 wickets in 7 overs at a high economy rate.
No Participation in West Indies Series
Moeen Ali's decision to skip the IPL is unexpected, especially since he has also been excluded from the ODI and T20 squads for the upcoming series against the West Indies, starting May 29.
ODI Squad: Harry Brook (captain), Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Tom Banton, Jamie Overton, Jacob Bethell, Jos Buttler, Brydon Carse, Ben Duckett, Tom Hartley, Will Jacks, Saqib Mahmood, Matthew Potts, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Jamie Smith.
T20I Squad: Harry Brook (captain), Rehan Ahmed, Tom Banton, Jacob Bethell, Jamie Overton, Jos Buttler, Brydon Carse, Liam Dawson, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Saqib Mahmood, Matthew Potts, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, Luke Wood.
