IPL 2025 Restart Announcement
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the Indian Premier League (IPL) will recommence on May 17 at six different venues. According to the updated schedule, the final match is set for June 3. The IPL was suspended after the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was called off on May 8, following an attempted incursion by Pakistan into Indian airspace near Chandigarh.
In a statement, the board expressed its satisfaction in announcing the resumption of IPL 2025. After extensive discussions with the government, security agencies, and key stakeholders, the board decided to proceed with the remaining matches of the season.
The first match upon the league's return will feature Royal Challengers Bangalore facing Chennai Super Kings in Bengaluru on May 17. The revised schedule includes six venues: Bengaluru, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai for the league matches.
Details regarding the playoff venues will be revealed later. A total of 17 matches will be played across the six locations, with two doubleheaders scheduled for two Sundays.
